Juniors: A Focus on Civil Disobedience

Early this week, the Juniors in Room G17 will conclude their read aloud of the play The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail. For the rest of the week, we’ll be exploring the concepts of civil disobedience and social reform through the play and through Henry David Thoreau’s text, “Civil Disobedience.” As the week closes, students will research contemporary social reform movements. They will also have a quiz this Friday on reading comprehension. Students will be given a passage from “Civil Disobedience” that we have not studied in class and will answer both short answer and multiple choice questions.
