On Monday, students will be introduced into the next unit, Catcher and the Rye, so that students can begin reading the novel for homework.
In order to close the poetry unit, on Wednesday and Thursday, students will write a poetry comparison response. The quiz ultimately asks students to determine how uses of figurative language develop the tone and theme of either the Harlem Renaissance or the Feminism Movement. In order to prepare, students will wrap up feminism on Tuesday by studying and discussing the future of feminism. On Wednesday, students will begin their quiz by reading and annotating two pre-selected poems. On Thursday, students will use their annotations from the previous day in order to write their long responses.
