This week, students will continue preparing their collaborative essays. These essays are due at the beginning of class on Thursday and must be printed, shared on Google Docs, and submitted on Turnitin.com. Students will have access to Chromebooks to work on these papers during class time on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, students will be reminded of some Essay Writing Tips, before having the rest of the class period to work on their paragraphs. On Tuesday, students will receive access to Criterion, a website that can provide grammar feedback to students’ papers. They will also have the rest of the class period to work on their essays. On Wednesday, we will read Act II Scene 3 in class and explore how language can impact characterization.
Parents, how can you help?
- Because your child is working on his or her essay for most of the week, ask your child what he or she is writing about! If your child is apprehensive about writing, talking out ideas with you can help your child organize his/her thoughts, as well as develop new ideas to incorporate into the essay.
